I started in photography in 2004 when I bought a Canon PowerShot A510. This camera here. I loved that it was digital and I would take hundreds and hundreds of pictures with it. I had a great time with that camera. I had various other point and shoots until the spring of 2009 when I bought my first DSLR, a Canon 450D or Rebel XSi. This camera here.
I continued taking hundreds of photos. I read the manual. I played with the various shooting modes but mostly ended up using auto. Over time I began to read, test, and understand how things like aperture, shutter speed and ISO would influence the image. I took an all day camera course where I learned even more and I put those things into practice. I've always enjoyed looking at the images that I have captured. Complements from others about my photos were just icing on the cake. Then, people began asking me to take their pictures. Family pictures, senior pictures, etc...so I did. I still enjoy it and I am still happy when others enjoy their photos.
I still shoot with the Rebel I bought 3 years ago and I think I am finally growing into it and utilizing it to its full potential. I recently invested in a new lens and my journey continues. Join me here for my most recent photos and for tutorials on photoshop, photography terminology and more.
